MAGAZINE ON THE ARTS OF THE ISLAMIC WORLD

ABOUT

IWA Islamic World of Art is a magazine on Islamic art and culture. It covers art, architecture, history, and culture of the Middle East and the Arab-Islamic world.
IWA Islamic World of Art includes features, reportage, commentary, photography, and reviews.

“Islam” has become a difficult word: too often it is perceived as a synonym for bigotry, blind religious faith, backwardness, and terrorism.

With our magazine, we want to provide insightful content aimed at anyone who wishes to get another understanding of Islam and the culture it has produced and continues to inspire.

In doing so, we also want to go beyond stereotypes and generalizations and reflect on the different aspects of the many art forms that fall under the broad definition of “Islamic Art”: what it is, if it can be defined, and how.
